Baptism & Salvation

Baptism

The Bible clearly teaches that baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to Christ. Baptism allows a believer to communicate to the world their heart-felt commitment to Christ. People often have questions regarding baptism:

  • Why should I be baptized? I’ve already been baptized.
  • Do I have to do it again? Does it matter if someone is sprinkled or dunked?

You can find out more about what the Bible says regarding baptism by visiting the Next Steps Room, located south of the Worship Center and directly across from the doors leading into the Connection.
If you have children we recommend they attend our NEW U class before they get baptized.

Got Kids?

New U is a one-week course for children (Grade 5 and under) and their parents, learning together about child salvation and baptism. At least one parent is required to attend the first night with their children. As part of our beliefs on baptism at First McKinney, we require that children attend this class before they are baptized.

Salvation

The most important question to ask yourself is, “Have I come to a point in my life where I have invited Christ to forgive me and to take control?” If your answer is “no” or “I’m not sure,” I want to encourage you to click this link and it will explain the need we all have for Christ to forgive us and take control of our lives. It could make an eternal difference in your life! If you would like to talk with a pastor about this decision, please email us at info@firstmckinney.com.
