Adoption Fund
One of our theme verses for BEYOND is James 1:27: Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained from the world. While we know the Lord doesn’t place a call on everyone’s heart to adopt, we want our church to help families who have this calling on their lives. What a spectacular way to demonstrate the gospel to the world when we intentionally choose to love and care for a child who has been given up or abandoned. Adoption is a huge expensive step. We want to provide “seed money” to couples who feel this calling. We can do this by expanding our Lifesong for Orphans Adoption Fund. This, along with regular budgeted money, will generously provide opportunity for our community to afford adoption.

Emmanuel Labor
Paul Ballesteros uses Matthew 25:34-40 as the foundation for the mission of Emmanuel Labor. Modeling the love of Jesus Christ, our mission is to address the needs of anyone affected by homelessness and poverty. We disciple individuals, establish ministries, support initiatives, and develop leaders. Emmanuel Labor works out of storage units just north of downtown McKinney. They desperately need a more permanent location to carry out this mission to the “least of these”. In 2021, we want to partner with them as they secure a place and expand their ministry.

The year 2020 and the worldwide pandemic has been especially tough on our church plants in Denver and Boston. Journey Point Church and Encounter Church have not started in-person gatherings yet. These churches are made up of many previously unchurched people and new Christ followers who have come to faith in Jesus. Both churches have been faithfully meeting online and striving to love their neighbors, but “relaunches” will need to take place to let their communities know that they are back up and running. First McKinney will provide funds to help both churches relaunch as soon as possible in 2021.

We want to do something BIG with one of our international partners – maybe in the UK, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Zambia or Cambodia. We are waiting on God to give us something concrete that helps a partner meet needs in their community, build relationships, share Jesus and teach obedience. We think it wise to have some “dream money” in the budget where our Missional Life Team can vette such a project and invest in that community when a God-dream comes along.
