Worship this week is Online only

We will be online-only this weekend. Watch this video from Pastor Sam for details.

Last week I spent time with multiple people who have since tested positive for Covid-19. As a result, I am writing to you from quarantine. Because I tested negative, no one that has been around me needs to be quarantined unless I develop symptoms.

I am not alone. Others in our community are battling the virus or are under quarantine, and that number continues to rise. After much prayer and counsel, we believe that it is wise for us to hit “pause” on our in-person worship for the next few weeks and reschedule our July 12 Stadium Service. We will have online-only services this Sunday, July 5 at 9:15 & 10:45am.  For now, other ministries may continue in-person gatherings on campus following the guidelines provided by the CDC and our city leaders.

We are not afraid… because He lives! Our message is unchanged… Jesus. We are not divided… because Jesus has broken down the dividing wall of hostility. We are united… because of the Gospel. Our victory is assured… the gates of Hell will not prevail against the Church. We are bold… because of the power of the Holy Spirit. We are grateful, prayerful, and hopeful.

Because of your generosity with your time and resources last week, we began feeding families again through our partner school, Finch Elementary. We have launched our new ministry, Job Seekers, to serve our church and community. With our online audience, we continue to see more involved in our worship services year over year. Last week we also saw over 100 kids involved in the backyards of our first three Mission McKinney homes. Two children made the life-transforming decision to follow Jesus! If you drive by the church, the Family Health Center across the street that you are a part of is progressing quickly. God is on the move.

As we continue this journey together, continue to pray for wisdom, extend grace, and pursue connection (Thank you, Life Group leaders). In our Bible Reading Plan we read this morning: “Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.” - Psalm 143:8

Could it be that Jesus is prompting His Church in the world to move more and more outside the walls in this season? We will see the first Holy Spirit empowered step that direction for the church in Acts 3 this week. Our neighbors are hungry for the Gospel right now. God is working this season together for good…to conform His Church and our community more into the image of His Son. How can you use what God is teaching you to love your neighbors and impact others for Christ?
