First Baptist Learning Center

First Baptist Learning Center is our weekday preschool that meets during the school year in our children's building.

Monday-Thursday

9:15am - 2:15pm
Ages: 1 year through Kindergarten

Our weekday education programs use the Success for Life curriculum, an academic curriculum developed by educators at the University of North Texas. This curriculum teaches to the specific Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills needed in Kindergarten. We use this curriculum in conjunction with monthly themes chosen by the administrative team as well as additional online resources available to the teaching staff. Our Kindergarten program uses a mixture of curriculum resources including Daily 5 , Everyday Math, Science Discovery, and Lucy Calkins for writing. Our program also uses LifeWay’s Levels of Biblical Learning in order to teach age appropriate preschool spiritual concepts and Christian values.

All classrooms have a scheduled snack, lunch (provided by parent), rest time, indoor/outdoor activity time, and educationally sound learning centers. All children also participate in a variety of specials classes and attend a weekly chapel led by our director and assistant director.

Our weekday preschool program and staff are carefully supervised by the Children’s Minister of First Baptist McKinney. While the weekday program is an integral part of the Children’s Ministry of First Baptist, the weekday program is funded entirely by the tuition and fees of students. Our fees and tuition reflect a competitive and fair rate to cover all expenses including classroom resources and payroll.

We believe that our outstanding program and staff are built on a longstanding foundation of excellence that has been represented by more than 25 years of educational service to the McKinney community. All of our staff is carefully screened through a detailed interview process. All staff members are CPR/First Aid certified and FBI fingerprinted/background checked. Each staff member must attend twenty-four hours of continuing education classes yearly. A certified teacher is placed in each classroom from three’s classes and up.
