At First McKinney we are committed to making disciples who live and love like Jesus.  Realm is an online, interactive community that helps us do just that. Realm provides:

  • The ability to manage your personal information, and who is allowed to see it
  • New ways to connect and communicate with your Life Group
  • Online registrations for group activities and special events
  • A simple to use Kids's check-In experience
  • Flexible, simple to use giving options, including text-to-give

News

Realm's newsfeed keeps everyone up-to-date with the latest
posts, photos, and events for your group.

Events

See event details (date, time, location, etc.), submit an
RSVP or register, and sign up to bring something.

Giving

Give safely and securely online or in the Realm Connect app.  Give once, set up recurring gifts, view your giving history, and make changes at anytime.

Communications

Post messages and photos to your group and comment on posts by others.  Additionally, you can send messages to your entire group, or individuals.

Connect

See names and basic profile details for the people in our church
or your group, based on their privacy preferences.

Notifications

Manage your preferences for group notifications and emails.  Select which notifications and emails you want to see, and when.

Groups

Life Groups are an important part of our church, and now you can connect with the people in them throughout the week.  Keep track of who and what is going on in your group! 

Profiles & Privacy

Everyone in our church gets a profile.  Your profile contains everything you want people in our church to know, and enables you to quickly RSVP and register for events, track giving, and update contact information.  The best part is, you control what people see through customizable privacy settings.

Events

View upcoming church events and register for those that you'd like to attend. You can also register your kids and other members of your family as well!  Login to manage your active registrations, and see any outstanding balances for those events that have costs.

Giving

Giving should be easy, and Realm makes it so.  Quickly give online or through the Realm Connect app.  You can give a one time gift or set up a recurring gift. Realm automatically records your gifts and adds them to your profile, and you can login to to manage your gifts, view giving history, and print your contribution statement.

Your Privacy and Realm

Your family's privacy is very important to us.  We want to be good stewards of the information you choose to share and understand that First McKinney is made up of unique individuals that want to share their lives in different ways.  Our church utilizes Realm as a tool for staff, group leaders, and members to stay connected and updated on church events, activities, and more.  We hope the following information helps you understand that Realm and First McKinney are dedicated to the security and safety of you and your family's information!

Your Information is YOUR Information

  • You have complete control over who can see your contact and personal information.
  • Your information in our Realm database is not public or searchable on the Internet, it is always protected behind a Realm login.
  • Authorized First McKinney staff will always have access to your profile and information.
  • Only you, staff, and your group leaders (in some instances) have the ability to update your profile information.
  • For safety reasons, sharing contact information for children under 18 is limited by Realm.  Parents get to determine what information is shared, and with whom.
  • Children under 13 are unable to be issued a Realm login.

What People May See in Realm

By default, the viewing of your personal and contact information is limited to members of groups you are in, group leaders, and First McKinney staff.  However, if you choose to, you can make your information visible to all registered users of our church's Realm website.

  • Contact Information: Name, Address, Phone numbers, and Email addresses.
  • Personal Information: Marital Status, Family Position (Head, spouse, child, etc.)*, Member Status, but you also have the option of sharing your birthday, gender, allergy information, and skills with others in the church.

*If you are a group leader or host an event, certain contact information may be visible regardless of the settings you choose.

Understanding Privacy Settings

  • Anyone in the church:
If selected, everyone in your church with a Realm login can see this information. This option is not available to users with a family position of "Child" who are under 18. This option is available for someone with a family position of "Child" who is 18 or older.
  • People in my groups:
If selected, only members of the same groups, leaders, users with the View Details for Individuals permission, and administrators can see this information. This option is not available for "Child" profiles that don't have a birth date listed.
  • Leaders:
If selected, only leaders, users with the View Details for Individuals permission, and administrators can see this information. This option is not available for "Child" profiles that don't have a birth date listed.
  • Users with permission only:
If selected, only users with the View Details for Individuals permission and administrators can see this information. Users with this permission can view and update privacy settings for "Child" profiles when a birth date is not listed.

Family Privacy

Only primary members of a family can change settings for others; individuals with a family position such as "child" or "other" cannot. When you change privacy settings for another member of your family, that person will be notified by email.

You can check and edit the privacy settings for each member of your family in the same window. That way, you can determine who in Realm can see information for your spouse and children.
